David Muench ((born in June 25, 1936 in Santa Barbara, California) is known for his American Western landscape photography and has been in this field for half a century.

Beginnings David Muench attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, the University of California in Santa Barbara and the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles, California. He then embarked on a freelance photographer career.
Career David has been a freelance photographer since the 1950’s. For the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis David photographed large murals and smaller photographs on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. He also works for the World Heritage Sites for UNESCO and Panasonic. David has also published over 50 exhibit format books. His work also appears in private collections, in many magazines and as posters.
Talented Family David Muench is the son of landscape photographer Josef Muench, who, for 50 years, worked for the Arizona Highways magazine. Also a successful photographer is David’s son Marc, who specializes in outdoor action and landscape photography. David’s wife Bonnie Muench is also a photographer as well as a painter.
Exhibits Not only is David’s work displayed in numerous private collections but he has had the following exhibits. A permanent display at the Jefferson Expansion Memorial in St. Louis, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop, California, The Center for Creative Photography, the Museum of Northern Arizona and Phoenix Art Museum exhibited with Ansel Adams and Jack Dykinga.
